My name is Norma Portilla , and I'm the creative mind behind Mosketa , a Mexican sustainable jewelry brand inspired by the natural and symbolic richness of the Sea of Cortez. As founder and creative director, I design each piece in my workshop in Mexico City, where I live and find an endless source of inspiration.

Mosketa is more than a brand: it's a dialogue between nature, art, sustainability, and memory. We work with silver transformed through responsible processes and collaborate with local artisan workshops, combining traditional and contemporary techniques to create pieces that connect with the five senses.

My journey in design began as a self-taught endeavor during my adolescence. Although my undergraduate degree was in International Relations (IBERO), I later pursued a Master's in Image and worked in that field for several years. However, the creative calling proved stronger. I specialized in Contemporary Jewelry at CENTRO, took courses at the School of Visual Arts in New York, and am currently pursuing certification in Gemology through the GIA.

Traveling, listening to music, reading, exploring museums, and browsing stationery stores (my weakness) are some of my everyday passions. On my travels, I often record soundscapes that I later share, as a way of transmitting inspiration through sound. I also love talking about gemstones, not only for their beauty, but for the stories, symbolism, and energies they hold.

I believe in the power of small pieces to create big connections.
